We are a small voluntary, community led group called The friends of The Eco Park which manages a nature reserve created on the site of a former colliery waste tip. We protect the flora and fauna in the park and encourage the local community to care for the site through promoting greater usage for physical and mental health reasons, to learn about environmental issues through education and training schemes, and we work with a number of local groups and agencies, including schools and youth groups. Groundwork helps us with training schemes and activities.
We wish to apply for a grant to help us obtain a converted container that we can use on site as an office/ schoolroom to assist us in our aims. The ones we have seen cost around £ 1o,000, but we have money set aside for £ 5,000. We are looking at funding to supply the rest, i.e. £ 5,000.
Please could you look upon us as eligible for grant assistance and send us an application form.
