Coalfields Community Investment Programme for England

Grants are available to voluntary and community organisations for projects taking place in the top 30% most deprived coalfield communities in England and will make a positive difference in addressing the areas of skills, employment, health and well-being.

There is a total of £500,000 for the financial year (1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020) with £125,000 allocated to each quarterly committee meeting. Grants of between £500 and £10,000 are available.

The Trust will now fund Core Costs up to 50% of the total costs requested from the Trust. This can include Operational Costs and Administration and Management. This is a highly competitive fund with a success rate of 22% last year.

The fund is open to projects that will make a positive difference in addressing the following themes:

Skills: Growing the skills of people in order to increase their opportunities.

Employment: Developing pathways to increase the number of people in work.

Health and well-being: Supporting projects that increase participation in activities/services that improve the health and well-being of people in former coalfield communities and will encompass projects that address food poverty, debt advice, mental health issues, substance misuse, social isolation or projects increasing participation in physical activity.
