Sheldon Trust

A small number of grants are available for registered charities in the West Midlands undertaking projects to relieve poverty and need in society, specifically community projects; special needs groups; youth development; and holidays for the disadvantaged. The Trustees are willing to consider applications for funding of up to £10,000, when warranted. Multi-year commitments, up to three years, can also be considered. The criteria are:

Community projects within the West Midlands that address identified local needs of a community nature.

Special needs groups within the West Midlands which assist groups that are at a disadvantage in society due to age, health or learning issues.

Youth development (nationally) which address the needs of 16-25 year olds, especially those not in education, employment or training (NEET). Applications are encouraged from programmes which encourage individual young people to expand their experiences and challenge their capacities.

Holidays for the disadvantaged for beneficiaries from the West Midlands or Greater London.

For Holiday Funding applications, decisions are made throughout the year. For other awards, the Trustees meet in April and October to consider around 15 to 25 applications at any one time, depending on the amount of funding available for grant making. Applications and supporting documentation must be submitted by the deadline provided by the Trust. However, applications received too late for one of the Trustees meetings will be considered at the next review.

Please note: Deadlines are subject to change without notice. The online application process will close as soon as a sufficient number of applications have been received. Applicants are urged to check the website (https://www.pwwsolicitors.co.uk/charity-grants/8-the-sheldon-trust) for updates.
