Tweed Family Charitable Trust

Recognising how much they benefited from their own secure upbringing, the Tweed family started the Tweed Family Charitable Foundation to support charities that offer life enhancing opportunities that may otherwise have been denied to young people because of their circumstances.

The aim of the fund is to see young people develop their social and practical skills through mentoring, education and community activities.

Grants consisting of one-off payments of £5,000 up to £10,000 per year for three years are available.

Registered charities or not-for-profit enterprises with an annual turnover of less than £1 million will be considered.

Applicants must:

  • Be based in England or Wales.
  • Demonstrate that they make a difference to young people under the age of 25.

The Trustees will give greater consideration towards applications that support socially disadvantaged youth of teenage years. In practice, it is expected that the majority of organisations receiving support will have an annual income of less than £500,000.

The deadline for formal applications is 30 September 2021, or earlier subject to the number of applications received. Applicants must first submit an online enquiry form. If the funders wish to consider the enquiry further, they will forward a formal application form by email.
